Tidying up for co-op

6 October 2026

A round of loose ends before the first proper run with a friend.

Outside, you used to be able to float straight through a wall, which wasn't ideal, so now you bump off every hull and the only ways in are a door, a docking collar or a hole you've cut, and floating into a wreck's cut hole takes you aboard it while floating back into your own airlock gets you home.

Friends used to vanish the moment they stepped onto the station too, so now if they're aboard anything docked to your ship you see them wherever they are:

CREW 2's name showing through the door at the end of the arm
CREW 2's name showing through the door at the end of the arm
And there they are, coming down the corridor
And there they are, coming down the corridor

The flight computer tells you what the autopilot's up to now as well, whether that's docking with the ring, the next burn and how big it'll be, how far through a burn you are, or when a transfer gets in and a warp finishes.

The flight computer, docking
The flight computer, docking

And while wiring all that up I found a bug that had been hiding because you'd only ever worked on your own ship, which was that every part you could see was following your ship's state, matched up by number, so a docked station's breaker would've shown whatever your breaker with the same number was doing. Each machine follows its own state now, your tools work on whatever you're actually looking at, and a station's parts are yours to work on once you've taken a job on it.
