A ship that lives, and flies
6 October 2026
The ship you walk around in is the simulation, so if you cut a cable the lights it was feeding go out, if you run a new one it gets drawn along the wall where you ran it, and if you pull a part out the slot's just empty, with the server deciding what actually happens and your view following along.

Ships point somewhere now as well, so you can sit at the helm and fly by hand on all six axes for the fiddly stuff like undocking, docking or matching speed with a wreck, and out of the window is the actual system, its sun and planets and the station you've just left.

Longer trips go through the flight computer, which is a real screen on the pilot's console rather than a menu, you lean in, pick where you're going and then approach, transfer, warp or dock. You start each burn from the seat and then you're free to get up and wander about while it coasts.

Oh and roll's on Q and E, because having it on Z and X would've been miserable haha.
